There is a change of paradigm with HKBP (Huria Kristen Batak Protestan = Batakneese congregation) to see the issue regarding legislator candidate. In 2009 it looks that Eforus (the HKBP leader) starting to open for people to having endorsement from the church. It could be in requesting special praying from pastor. He arranged special services in almost each districts, and giving pastoral preaching for the legislator candidates.
It was never happened in the history of HKBP since years ago. One of the former Eforus even declared a statement: "let the church be the church ...". This statement believed by most of people that politics is out of the church business. An in fact people still "allergy" to entering political issues like legislator election into congregation live.
