Haj to Jerusalem for Christian?

Sometimes preaching can make me confused. Maybe because of the preacher is too "enthusiastic". One day in Sunday morning service, a priest from other congregation came to our church for delivering the text. I did not know where the idea came in, suddenly he said strongly:" ... that is why i ask you to do haj. Not to Mecca but Jerusalem.". Not only once, but he replied frequently until he closed the preaching.

Up to now i never heard and never know there is a mandatory for Christian to do pilgrimage to Jerusalem. Different from Moslem who should go to Mecca if she/he already has ability (in term of finance, and others ...) for getting haj title, there is no statement and regulation for the Christians doing that.

Very strange, and very questioning ...
